Remodeling The Bend Bulletin Building to “The Quad”
The Bend Bulletin has been an important part of the town’s history since its founding in 1903. In 2000, the newspaper moved into an 86,445 square foot building just off Chandler Ave. (named after the founder) on Bend’s Westside. The state-of-the-art production and office space inhabits a total of 10 acres of prime Bend real estate. After parent company, Western Communications, listed the property in 2017, new purchasers made a plan to transform the space into what is now called The Quad at Skyline Ridge. Central Oregon Garage Door had the opportunity to be part of this amazing transformation.
Now a business campus, The Quad includes 20 units for new tenants to rent that “bring new life to the property, while maintaining and enhancing its core ambience.” We installed a total of 26 CHI 3295 manufactured full-view doors for these office units. In addition, we installed seven operable doors that are where individual office units open into common areas. Central Oregon Garage Door installation technicians added spring line and mounted hardware above a drop ceiling to hide some of the springs and contribute to the overall sleek and modern look of the renovated building.
All the doors throughout the building have a powder coated track and hardware to blend in and complement the other hardware throughout the Quad. Our team also installed fixed doors to look like storefronts that face the open areas. The full-view doors allow for light to come into each rental space and offer a unique perspective to the areas among the rental units. With a total of 19 fixed garage door panels in the first phase of the remodel, we are now adding one more in phase 2. Overall, this project is an amazing blend of contemporary and craftsman style where CHI doors are the focal points that invite collaboration. We are proud to have contributed to such a unique remodel of an iconic Bend building!
